NAI Daus Completes Lease with Cleveland Improv Institute in the Historic Centrum

Chris Seelig, Director of Retail Services at NAI Daus

NAI Daus completed a lease in The Centrum Building, located at 2781 Euclid Heights Blvd. in Cleveland Heights, Ohio with Cleveland Improv Institute.  The 4,144 square foot theater space is located on the second floor of the historic Centrum Building which was built in 1920.   Cleveland Improv Institute will operate as Big Dog Theater and will join Chipotle, City & East Hookah and Spirits!, and The Doghouse at the Centrum.

Chris Seelig, Director of Retail Services at NAI Daus, represented the landlord in this transaction, while Don Mitri of Cleveland Improv Institute was self-represented.  According to Seelig, “This will be the only comedy venue on Cleveland’s east side, which will attract more people to the eclectic Coventry Neighborhood.  We are also excited to be searching for a restaurant operator who will compliment the comedy club, as well as the other tenants of the Centrum Building, and be a good long term fit for the available first floor restaurant space formerly occupied by Johnny Malloy’s.”

Beginning October 2010, Don Mitri of Cleveland Improv Institute will operate Big Dog Theater in the Centrum, offering a wide range of standup comedy, improvisation and sketch comedy, along with weekly shows featuring local and national talent.  Mitri states, “There must be a dedicated training and performance center for comedy to grow in Cleveland, with all the talent this city has, Cleveland is the next great hub for comedy,”
